Just a quick post this evening, I've just added a couple of new clutch bags to the Folksy shop, hope you like them!

Baking!
After my Folksy Friday last week I was even more eager to get my apron on, and here are the results!
Although the green icing kind of implies a minty flavour its vanilla sponge and vanilla buttercream, from a recipe out of the Hummingbird Bakery cookbook (I don't get paid for plugging the HBB, honest! I just love it!)

Day trip to the Big Smoke
Not doing so well on my New Years Resolutions am I?! Things just keep getting in the way, despite my good intentions.
But anyways, now I've got 5 minutes I'll get this post up then on to some sewing!
On Monday we had a day trip to London for my Mum-in-Law's birthday. We hired some of the Barclays hire cycles (Boris Bikes) which was fun - if a little terrifying! (cycling round the capital's roads was a bit intimidating!)
Photo from here
We cycled for an hour then walked for the rest of the day - we saw Regent's Park, Camden Market (highly recommend the pie stall there - yummy!), Little Venice and Portobello Road before walking back to Waterloo. My legs are ACHING!!!!
We also passed the Portobello Road branch of the Hummingbird Bakery so I had to stop, obviously, I've got my first ever Red Velvet Cupcake waiting for me later, but for the time being feast your eyes on the adorable packaging!

Rain rain go away!
This weather is so miserable at the moment! Perfect weather for staying in and crafting, but alas, no such luck for me - out in to the rain I go. On the upside, if I go out it means I can stop by the haberdashery and pick up a few more crafty supplies for when I get home!
In the meantime check out some of these stunning umbrella photos, beautiful! (Again, all from weheartit (possibly my new favourite website!)

New Year Resolutions
Ok, so I'm running a little late to be posting NY resolutions but I get points for trying, right?!
1. The Green Feather
In hindsight starting an online shop and blog like this two weeks before Christmas was perhaps not my smartest idea, so I'm making it my mission to get the blog and Folksy shop up and running properly this year - meaning regular listings in the shop, and regular posting on here
2. Be more organised!
This applies to everything - from super exciting things like getting the housework done (I know, how rock and roll!) to planning my crafting and blog posts. And making sure I'm organised with buying/making birthday and Christmas pressies in decent time, unlike last year when I didn't even get any Christmas baking done!
3. Support the handmade community
I'm aiming to get as many presents as possible from my fellow crafters, and hopefully help promote others too when I've become a bit more established myself.
4. Eat less chocolate!
Fairly standard as resolutions go, but necessary all the same. As of this evening I have no more Christmas choccy left (sob!) so I just have to resist buying any more!
